1. Wishing and hoping and praying…

…that I do NOT get lice.

Some of the kids at the school have them (and are still at school due to a bunch of complicated reasons I will save you the chore of reading). Young children are very clingy, hug-y, and have very minimal concept of personal space. I am desperately trying not to get lice.

Big purchase of the day? Hairspray.

I hear lice don’t like it. I scrubbed my hair with extra shampoo and conditioner, dried it with a very hot dryer, put tea tree oil around my hairline, behind my ears, and on the back of my neck, and sprayed my hair with hairspray. Tomorrow morning I’m braiding it in two tight french braids before school.
PLEASE GOD, I DO NOT HAVE THE TIME OR ENERGY TO DEAL WITH LICE RIGHT NOW.

Anyway. Other than a lice outbreak, school is going pretty well. I had a great time with 7th grade math students today, and the second graders love me (and I adore them. just don’t let them find out lol). I’m hoping to take some photos with my big DSLR in class tomorrow, we’ll see how sneaky I can be…(the loud camera clicks distract little kids in like 0.2 seconds).

Tonight I got to listen to DLS Elementary and Holy Names Catholic School’s 17th Annual Oratorical Contest about who Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is to them, always a neat experience.

Also went grocery shopping with the two volunteers and am super psyched for yummy, specialty, healthy, vegetarian food tomorrow! :D

However, not excited for tomorrow’s weather (it decided to get super cold all of a sudden. High of 35, low of 25. Ugh.

Oh well, that’s all for today. It’s bed time for me! Goodnight!
